      1.0 out of 5 stars Died within 3 monthes, September 24, 2012

By Scott Williams (austin, TX) - See all my reviewsAmazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This review is from: Crucial 256 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s CT256M4SSD1 (Personal Computers)

Purchased this drive for my laptop since at the time was a good deal. I had purchased Intel and Samsung drives which both have lasted for years but was assured Crucial makes good drives. However, within 3 monthes of my purchase it died - no boot to Windows, no drive in bios. Tried it on my PC, no dice. My first dead SSD.

I talked to the helpdesk guy at work and it turns out we deployed 3 of these at work and had 2 of the 3 crap out within a year as well. Not a good average. Maybe Crucial has sacrificed its reputation for cheaper manufacturing - which is a shame.
