Rating: 1/5You'd think they knew something about memory

Pros: It was relatively inexpensive, so as has been said so often: 'You get what you pay for'

Cons: Tried to install it on 2 different machines without success.

Initialized (formatted) it using Acronis and Acronis said it was a success.

On each machine that I installed it it was visible in the BIOS and in Windows 7 Device Manager.

It was INVISIBLE in 'Computer' so it didn't have a drive letter and thus was pretty much useless.

I am going to RMA it and go for a name brand.

      Manufacturer Response:

      Pros: Was fast. Was happy.

Cons: Died after a month. I'm sad. Would not detect in BIOS or USB externally. The RMA process is online. We'll see how smooth it goes.

      Rating: 1/5BEWARE!!!!

Pros: Migration of data painless, zippy response.

Cons: I have bricked two of these in one month on my Dell Inspiron 17R with Windows 7.

      Your mileage will vary.

Other Thoughts: If you want to try it, keep ALL of the shipping material and do NOT change the original boot/OS drive. I have been lucky (twice around the block) to have not suffered any issues since I just swapped back in the old drive. Kingston has diligently replaced them but something is just not right with this drive. Hopefully someone, sometime will simply refund my purchase instead of giving USPS all that money in returns.

Rating: 1/5Super slow drive during write speeds after a week, RMA'd after two weeks when there was no new firmware

Pros: Okay, first off this is a fast drive. It makes my windows boot up faster, and my programs that much snappier. It is also very cheap at under $1 a GB (when I bought it). Also, it seems easy to install, well built, and just a typical SSD.

Cons: The drive works well, however, it has extremely slow write speeds. Transferring a file from my USB 2.0 external to my drive takes a very long time (at somewhere between 5-15mb/s). It's terrible. TERRIBLE I SAY! Secondly, the install speed of programs makes the sequential write speeds horrible. You can't do anything when windows is updating (which also takes a long time), not even browse the internet.

Other Thoughts: I RMA'd it after two weeks because it was just too much for me to handle.I understand that there is a new firmware upgrade coming out (eventually? soon? who knows), but I'm review the product as it comes. If it's half finished, why would you put it on the market. Stay away, either wait for a good deal on a OCZ Agility/Vertex 3 or Intel, or pretty much anything besides Kingston. I had their HyperX ram, their laptop memory, and even the V100+. But after this incident, I don't think I would go back to Kingston, nor would I recommend them.

Side note*: I asked for an exchange for a HyperX 128gb drive and they said I had to pay the difference. They wanted me to pay $80 in difference, and I guess if you think about it, they don't really stand behind their V200 lines, or else they would charge you the $80 for a drive that actually works. It ticks me off - YOU kingston - that you put out a faulty product and wouldn't exchange for an unfaulty product.
