Rating: 1/5peace of junk, bad product, ocz shouldn't be on the market

Pros: Fast, cheap, works good for a while

Cons: Last only for a month, I was doing a performance test with ATTO, when suddely the system froze up, the ssd died. I'm so dissappointed to OCZ, I had bought 3 ocz ssd drives, and all of them had to RMA, is a bad product. Go for a Corsair or crucial

      Other Thoughts: piece of junk

      Rating: 1/5Good drive, terrible instructions.

Pros: The drive works as intended, after you bridge the gaps in the included installation instructions (see below).

If you buy this drive, it should work great if you figure out how to install it correctly, but the installation instructions are very lacking. DO A "QUICK FORMAT" (Windows 7--look up the equivalent for your OS if not using Windows 7) or the drive will be 100% useless and possibly unrepairable.

Also, I was able to use this drive as my boot/OS drive.

As allays, Newegg stands with their customers and RMAed the drive for me. I've been a customer for several years and I'll definitely be coming back.

Cons: The installation instructions don't tell you that you need to format it using "quick format" in Windows 7, and DO NOT do a "full format". (Note: If you are using anything other than Windows 7, then look-up what the equivalents are called in your OS).

I found this out by deep-diving into OCZ's website. They don't make this info easy to find, and, even if they did, it should be on the installation instructions included with their hardware. Customers should NOT be tooling around for hours to figure out how to install a plug-and-play device!!

As for OCZ...in 15 years of computing I've never had this kind of trouble with any storage media. I actually went backwards to a pair of IDE HDD drives (master/slave on the same ribbon) until the new SSD was sent to me.

Other Thoughts: I realize that SSDs are newer than HDDs, but they are not rocket science, have been out for a while now, and shouldn't require a user to spend hours searching for a solution to an obvious oversight by the manufacturer.

Unrelated to the trouble above--Current-generation SSDs only take benefit from SATA III speeds when doing large, sequential file transfers. For small random reads (IE grabbing lots of small files sprinkled across the drive) they only work at a speed of about half the bandwidth of SATA II. This means you don't need a SATA III port to get most of the benefit of running your OS & applications with a SATA III-compatible SSD.

I've got machines with both SATA II and IDE boot/OS drives and they are a lot slower. The IDE HDD is roughly 1/10th the speed and the SATA II HDD is about 1/2 the speed.

      Rating: 1/5replacement needs another replacement

Pros: cheap price, little else. First one kept freezing, and Newegg RMA'd it. The second one was good for 2 weeks and died completely. Now the RMA option is not available, though neither of these ever came close to working for 30 days. Bummer deal by Newegg on that.

Cons: For a device that's supposed to go 2 Million hours - and I don't see how - this is a piece of garbage. Newegg knows it and that's why there is a 30 day replacement only policy. Smalls like a rip off, huh? This is an item with known issues, and OCZ and Newegg teamed up to pick people's pockets. If I could get my money back I would. Maybe I should sue in Small Claims, but who has that kind of time to mess around?

Rating: 1/5Would be great if it was stable

Pros: When it works, it's fast. Boot times and performance are great. Good value for the cost, if it weren't for the cons. I'd give this 4 or 5 stars if they could fix the stability issues.

Cons: Causes the PC to lockup when it goes into sleep mode sometimes. I had no stability issues before I switched to this drive. I've been through 2 firmware updates on this drive that were supposed to fix this issue, but they did not. Have worked with tech support several times and they have been unable to provide a solution.

Other Thoughts: I can't recommend a drive that causes my PC to lockup multiple times a week. Stay away until OCZ can admit these drives are garbage and FIX THE STABILITY ISSUES.

Rating: 1/5Not Ready for Prime TIme

Pros: It had free shipping and a good price. However, pretty much junk. It was sold with a no refund / replacement only policy. That should tell you that both Newegg and OCZ are aware that there are lots of defective units they are dumping. Shame on them. I will never buy an OCZ product again. They pick you pocket for nearly $100, then laugh as your data, time and money are wasted. If their product was any good, they would stand behind it with their money where their mouth is. They don't. You buy it, it's yours and you're stuck. They've got your money and that's all they care about.

Cons: This drive would freeze, repeatedly. OCZ has some serious firmware issues and quality control problems. Poor support, poor everything. There is a good reason this was sold as an exchange only / replacement. If they had to refund money for all the trashy ones they have foisted upon the world, they would be losing money. When you return stuff on this basis, it becomes a game of roulette to get a good one

      Other Thoughts: Buyer Beware.

Rating: 1/5Great Price, bought 2, dog slow on z77

Pros: Price on shellshocker deal, bought 2, figured they would raid nicely or at least work in a couple old c2q systems i have.

Cons: can't get past 12.5k/7.25k on any sata2/3 port in ahci mode, can't break 25k/10k when raid0 is configured.

the two drives were not ordered in the same order, although they were ordered on the same day they shipped from different locations and had different firmwares, both needing updating. one looked brand new, the other looked like it had been sent back from a retail location that had it hanging in a sunny window, the black is almost grey.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if its my newer z77 board combined with this older ssd or what, but for my first ssd...this sucks. i should have just gone for the 120gb with the 2200 sf controller, but even then i don't know if it would work with my ASROCK z77 extreme 4 motherboard.

      Pros: none

Cons: drive failed within a matter of 12 days from installation taking my new OS (paid for), apps and files to a "bricked" grave - I am absolutely disgusted - first time in 22 years that I had a drive fail on me almost out-of-the gate

Other Thoughts: garbage, unreliable, mfg. does not stand behind this product (exchange or credit no refund), RMA is a nightmare of negotiations - newegg.com I am deeply disappointed that you stock and sell these drives - will not buy again from here after all this trouble

      Rating: 1/5Waste of money

Pros: It's cheap and some what fast

Cons: Mine was working fine for about 2-3 hours (did firmware update first) and then decided to stop working. Not detected by the BIOS.

I would avoid getting this drive unless you don't mind having a primary drive go down and you have to reinstall everything.

Other Thoughts: Many of the reviews online state similar failures. I think it's a widespread problem and at this point the manufacturer is just trying to get rid of its shelf supply. It's really not as fast as other products and not reliable at all.
