1.0 out of 5 stars Another Vertex Agility 4 bites the dust..., August 7, 2012

This review is from: OCZ Technology 128GB Agility 4 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive( SSD) With Up to 420 MB/s Read And 72K Max.IOPS- AGT4-25SAT3-128G (Personal Computers)
Well I had this drive up and running for a little over 2 weeks with zero problems. Drive was quiet, cool, and performed really well. The speeds on this thing are crazy! All was great until I stared into the black hole of my monitor with little white letters on the screen that said something to the effect of: I can't read your hard drive press ctrl-alt-del to restart. Well i did that and got stuck in a loop. I could boot in safe mode to a command prompt and managed to run a chkdsk /f but it was all jacked up beyond chkdsk repair. I then said to heck with it, I'll just re install the OS, well Windows 7 setup couldn't partition the disk due to disk I/O errors. Oh well, I was inside my 30 days so back to the good folks at Amazon this dead beast goes. Oddly enough, I have a Vertex 3 and that has been great, no problems. Maybe this failure was because the drive was simply a lemon, but a hard drive crash is surely a VERY sour lemon that doesn't leave the best taste in ones mouth! :o Help other customers find the most helpful reviews
1.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately Defective, August 6, 2012

This review is from: OCZ Technology 256GB Agility 4 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive( SSD) With Up to 420 MB/s Read And 85K Max.IOPS- AGT4-25SAT3-256G (Personal Computers)
of course, it was a pretty large problem that it was defective, the bootmgr would be corrupt or missing, letting OCZ give me a new one, if it doesn't work, I will be returning this, I will update the score if needed also. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Fast (to fail), July 18, 2012

Got this drive to repalcae a Samsung 256GB. Got the image on it in about 40 minuites and then it ran for another 2 hours. Then I got the blue screen followed by a drive that would never be reconizable again. Less than 3 hours to failure is not so good. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews
1.0 out of 5 stars Unreliable - Get the Vertex Instead, August 6, 2012
By smknjoe - See all my reviewsThis review is from: OCZ Technology 512GB Agility 4 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive( SSD) With Up to 420 MB/s Read And 85K Max.IOPS- AGT4-25SAT3-512G (Personal Computers)
I purchased 3 of these and all of them had bad sectors out of the box. The first had 15 bad sectors, showed 18 hours of usage, and wouldn't mount (as a second drive in Linux.) The second and third drives actually mounted and functioned but still had bad sectors and 6 hours of usage straight out of the box.
I have 3 other OCZ Vertex 3 drives (including a MaxIOPS) and they are great. Spend a little more and get one from the Vertex series. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews
1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work, August 8, 2012

Had read all the warnings about OCZ products, but thought I'd take a chance anyway. This hard drive simply didn't work from the moment I plugged it in - recovery disk wouldn't install properly, a straight up Windows 7 Ultimate CD installed but then would randomly say that the operating system needed to be repaired (and then Windows would say that it was unable to be repaired.) Then it would start working again out of nowhere.
I returned this and bought a Crucial M4 128GB SSD. The write speeds aren't as fast but the read speeds are better and it worked the first time I plugged it in. Should have spent the extra $20 to begin with.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not stable, July 13, 2012
By Dan-o (Denver, CO) - See all my reviewsThis review is from: OCZ Technology 256GB Agility 4 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive( SSD) With Up to 420 MB/s Read And 85K Max.IOPS- AGT4-25SAT3-256G (Personal Computers)
BSOD every time computer wakes from sleep. Known issue, no solution from OCZ.
About half the time the drive is not recognized on a cold start.
All around a waste of money. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews
1.0 out of 5 stars Awful product. I will never buy from OCZ again., July 6, 2012

There is a known flaw in the firmware when using this product with an Apple computer. The computer freezes upon waking from sleep. The computer must be rebooted. Unable to update the firmware, hence the ssd is worthless. I will never buy from OCZ again. Tech support is unable to help.
