Rating: 1/5Horrible product and a worse OCZ customer service

      Pros: it's a SSD

Cons: compatibility issues with alot of motherboards like the asus crosshair extreme that i own. bought it on sept 2010 and up till now no solution to the problem. the best thing OCZ customer service could offer is a e-mail with lots of blah blah blah that could take care of nothing.

Other Thoughts: get it working with all mobos before charging $599.99

      Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are very sorry that for the difficulties. The issues are system BIOS related, and we are working with the board manufacturers to prompt them for updates. Please call our support manager at (408)733-8400, ext 206. We will be happy to assist you. Our goal is to insure that every customer is satisfied with their purchase. Thank you

Pros: When working right this drive is fast as hell

Cons: tcpip.sys erorr, and another erorr I can't remember every time I try to d/l WOW, or playing other games I get blue screened, replaced Asus Crosshair IV Extreme motherboard, but come to find out it isn't even the board, I removed the card and the pc functions normally, I spent $1000 between this board and hard drive and for the first time I am shocked this drive is junk

Rating: 1/5Still in beta testing for the full retail price............

Pros: It's faster than a normal SSD on paper. It's good to do research. It's actually a decent paper weight.

Cons: Simply put, this product is unfinished it's only worthwhile if you know you have compatible hardware. OCZ released a product that has questionable design characteristics.

After speaking to OCZ tech support I learned the following.

You Cannot Update the firmware of the RevoDrive, I was told" We slapped a Silicon Image Raid Chip on a PCIe board with two Sandforce controllers" by OCZ tech support, and no the Sil3124 raid controller driver hasn't been altered to better match the Revodrive hardware or function. The Revo is not faster than a SATA SSD, it's on par with a C300. Revo=Half Duplex

Every "launch product" (and some non-launch) I've purchased from OCZ has ended in some kind of catastrophic failure and an RMA. (And you don't always get an item back that's an original equivalent class of product and purchase price of what you paid for.

There's no warning or compatibility list made public about which boards should will not work with this product, such as the EVGA SR2

Other Thoughts: 9/10 times when calling OCZ tech support I was either transferred and then disconnected, deferred to another department and given a email which doesn't exist for contact info. I was only able to reach one person who knew what he was talking about.

This product does work, it is fast, it's innovative, it's not yet finished beta testing, unfortunately that's what we're all paying for. I'll not be buying OCZ products again, not after this and the Core Series SSD mess, I've lost too much money, data and time. OCZ has lost my respect, these things should be recalled or a warning of compatibility related to this product should be made public.

On another note, hardware design 101; when integrating a third-party chip onto a piece of hardware, where that hardware function in practice is slightly different than what the chip was designed for, you're going to run into problems.

Bottomline: unless you're absolutely sure you have compatible hardware do not buy this product you'll lose

      Rating: 1/5rebate house for ocz

Pros: ocz does not process their rebates. ocz is associated with a dishonest rebate house allowing them to destroy their name.

Cons: i just wanted to leave a review in response to the reply ocz made on another person's review. you employ a rebate house to handle your rebates which isnt doing a good job and ruining your customers experience.

Other Thoughts: because you employ them to do your work it is still considered your bussiness' choice to be part of the problem.

      Pros: Fast

Cons: OCZ has the worse rebates ever. I have bought so much stuff from them right when the rebate started then denied for many of there excuses. DO NOT TRUST THEM

      I reported them to BBB.

Other Thoughts: If you want a solid product and get your rebates, and a solid warranty, buy Intel or Corsair. They stand behind there product, and I now look at OCZ as ARCO BP we are just the little people to them.

Rating: 1/5Cut Price, then Denied Rebate

      Pros: See my other reviews

Cons: OCZ has cut the price on this product, but refused to accept my newegg Invoice as a proper invoice. I paid $609 with a $30 rebate. Now it is $599 with a $30 rebate. I'm not happy with this product, anymore.

Other Thoughts: OCZ asked that I send my newegg Invoice again. Since it is the exact same invoice as the first one I sent, I'm expecting them to deny my rebate, again. If that happens, I will never buy another OCZ product, regardless of how well they perform. I don't deal with dishonest companies.

      Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry that you are having rebate difficulties. OCZ does not process rebates in house. We employ a rebate house to do all processing. We will be happy to contact the rebate house and will see that your legitimate claim is paid. Please email rebates@ocztechnology.com and include your full name, address, product and date and place of purchase.

      Pros: Looks good on paper!

Cons: Does not install with other SATA RAID Controllers

Other Thoughts: I spent the better part of a week reading OCZ forums, contacting OCZ tech support and attempting to install this product. I have a high end workstation that has 2 RAID controllers (Intel ICH10R SATA and a LSI 1068E SAS on a Tyan S7025 MB.) I intended to use the product to speed up image editing applications.

One of the reviewers said it all when he said he had to disable his SATA controller and just use his SAS. Although I tried this and the install was unsuccessful, I actually use both existing controllers so I do see this as a big issue.

BOTTOMLINE: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOUR SYSTEM RUNS ANOTHER SATA RAID ALREADY.

      Rating: 1/5FAIL

      Pros: None

Cons: DOA.. Looking closely at the board it's clear that OCZ soldered a wire between the R53 resister and the C11 capacitor after the board was manufactured. These are obviously beta boards OCZ has released to its resellers. Newegg should take a close look into this fraudulent practice.

Other Thoughts: Would lock up system on boot every time the card was installed in any PCI-X slot and would have to reset CMOS. Every fifteen or so reboots I would get past the BIOS screen and when trying to install Win7 drive would show up 1/2 the time but Win7 would not load on the drive. Another 15-20 reboots and BIOS resets and repeat.

      Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry for the problem. A replacement drive through Newegg will have you working properly. We can also assist you with troubleshooting on our support forums at the link below. We do not ship beta products, and it is common practice that board revisions may include a hard wire jumper.

      Thank you

      Pros: None

Cons: DOA. Since this works via two separate drives with a raid chip, both physical drives must work in order for the "logical drive" to be recognized.

The good news is that all was well upon bootUp, but the bad news is that it crashed upon using it, creating havoc to my system.

Newegg, however is great, issued me an RMA immediately and I will see if the next one works.
