Apparently they can get away with this. This is on the bbb.org's website

      "Additional File Information

On November 18 2008, The BBB contacted Target.com regarding recent inquiries from consumers regarding on-line pricing of car seats. Target.com has informed the BBB, they are aware of the issue, a result of a misprint on their web site, and they have corrected the pricing error. Target.com states no consumers will be charged as a result of the error.

The BBB would like to remind consumers wanting to purchase items on-line, pricing errors or mistakes are addressed in the Terms and Conditions section of websites. Businesses are not required to sell the item for the misprinted price. Please read all policies carefully before completing a transaction.

Here is the email I sent to Target:

I recently received your cancellation of my order, due to, according to your email, an "unexpected error." While I can understand that pricing errors can occur, it has also always been my understanding of the Truth in Advertising laws that an advertised price must be honored. Your stated policy should not and can not override Federal Law. Since I, too, work in advertising, I can easily attest that this is one reason why we spend so much time checking and rechecking prices. Does Target believe they are above the law, or that the law should only apply to local and small businesses? As I stated on one online forum tonight: "I've refused to shop at stores that did not uphold this, and I _did_ call the police at one convenience store when the girl got mouthy and refused to let me talk to a manager. While I understand that errors can happen, they can also happen intentionally, which is why the laws were put in place. How much extra traffic (and possibly sales) do you think Target got from this 'mistake'?" I've just counted at least a dozen online forums that listed your sale price, giving your link to your site. I can't imagine how much traffic this has generated for you, and how many potential sales that may have flowed from this exposure. You can't buy this kind of interest, but you can generate it with wild pricing. I am not at all convinced that this was a mistake, and not an intentional manipulation of online traffic. But regardless of intent, the laws remain: you should honor the price advertised up to and until the advertising is removed or changed. I will tell you that I do intend to forward this information to as many agencies, forums and news sources as I can locate. The time is over for blatant disregard of the law. Clean your house, perfect your procedures, and quit pretending you can do anything you want as long as you put it in some obscure policies page. The challenge now is to rebuild confidence. Good job!

(continued)If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Took them after I talked to them to send me an email..fishy to say the least

Doesn't this make anyone else angry? I'll tell you, the truth in advertising laws, as I've always understood them, make it clear that if a product is advertised at a price, that price needs to be honored. I've refused to shop at stores that did not uphold this, and I _did_ call the police at one convenience store when the girl got mouthy and refused to let me talk to a manager. While I understand that errors can happen, they can also happen intentionally, which is why the laws were put in place. How much extra traffic (and possibly sales) do you think Target got from this "mistake'?

Yeah it bothers me as I feel the same way. I will contact the BBB.ORG over it. I sent target an email thru their website to complain. Not that its a big deal, but it is a principle issue for me.

Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items on our Web site may be mispriced. Rest assured, however, that we verify prices as part of our shipping procedures.

If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and ship you the item

Probably best NOT to give customer service a heads up about such a deal! ;o)

I came across this listing by sheer chance - which is funny cause I'd been wanting something like this. I just ordered one - and I gave a friend a head's up, too. Fingers crossed! I did get a confirmation email from Target, so we will see. Delivery date is around Dec. 15 - so that is a lot of time for them to sober up over there! Thanks, HNZ

in for two...but it's probably not going to get shipped lol...too good to be true.

I ordered one as well, even though I really dont need one. Do they have to honor that price since it was ordered at that price and a confirmation email was sent out?
