Reviewed by:Rating:It's a fun novelty toy for a couple minutes. But it's a waste of money if you burn a lot of discs. It takes up more space than a regular spindle, and you cannot dispense several discs at once. You have to eject one, remove it, then eject another, remove it, etc. I find it more difficult to remove a disc from this device than from a spindle because you have to insert your finger slightly under the base to get the disc out. I will stick with keeping my discs in regular spindles. It's less work, and I can grab as many discs as I want each time.Reviewed by: RJ on 2009-01-14 23:38:17. Rating:At first I was a bit skeptical due to some of the whiny comments, but I have to admit that I love mine. It's convenient and looks nice and clean, especially for its low price. I really don't see how someone can whine about this thing when they bought it for $12. Maybe they were using crap discs that tend stick together out of the spindle (e.g. - printable Memorex). I've used both stacks 100 and 50 printable Riteks, and I've NEVER HAD A PROBLEM dispensing a single disc.I'm buying more for all the types of discs I burn.Reviewed by: another tip from 000 on 2007-07-09 11:55:45. Rating:I bought some more of these, so I am back to leave another tip. Use a 50pk cakebox cover with dispenser to prevent disks sticking together. Save a 100pk cakebox spindle. The base with the stick thing in the middle. If you leave some disks in the dispenser before you add more, then you can lower the dispenser onto the spindle base, giving you the center rod to use to use as a guide to add more disks. This is what I do, when I add more disks. 1- lower almost empty dispenser onto 100pk spindle. 2- unlock and remove 50pk cover. 3- add more disks, dropping them onto the 100pk rod that is sticking up through the last of the previous batch. 4- put the 50pk cover back on and lock it in place. 5- grab the 50pk cover, lift the dispenser back off the spindle, and put the dispenser back on top of my PC tower. This leaves a nice neat stack of disks inside the dispenser, instead of a somewhat sloppy disorganized look. Coincidentally, setting the dispenser on top of a 100pk base, will leave the top of the spindle rod usually right where it needs to be to lock the 50pk cover back on, because apparently the dispenser base is the same height as 50 disks.000 signing off.Reviewed by: Mombo on 2007-05-31 18:32:25. Rating:Sweeter than Apple Pie, purchased one, liked it so much, I bought one more. I love gadgets, and this one is great, some have posted that putting too many disc's in at once causes problems, but I put a 100 stack of cd's in and have had no problems so far. I think maybe they are being to gentle with the dispense lever, I pop it hard and have no problems dispensing from a 100 stack. I am trying to figure out how to mount it on top of my PC and have it dispense it to an open cdrom drawer, LOL..Also, I load my cd/dvd's up side down in the dispenser so that no part of the recording side of the disc ever gets touched.I really think it should come with a cover that is sure to work with it, not all do.Reviewed by: Cool...works on 2007-05-04 16:15:03. Rating:It serves its purposeI am not sure that was really worth the $12 though... Shawn on 2007-03-27 16:23:24. Reviewed by:Rating:Works well with 50 discs, but not so well with 100 discs in it. The disc gets stuck when theres more weight applied to it. Good Idea but not perfected for larger amounts of discs like advertised. Crazewolf on 2007-03-02 09:15:49. Reviewed by:Rating:This product is one of the best concepts that has came out in a long time. I will recommend this to all my friends an associates. Easy to fill CD/DVD's into dispenser and all the covers I have used fits perfect. Wish I found this sooner and will be buying more in the future for my business.Reviewed by: pasob on 2007-02-25 12:40:10. Rating:bought 1 for dvds to try it out. then with the next order bought a second for cds. i was lucky enough to get both before the price took a jump of $3.00 each, but think they are still worth the cost. some discs do stick slightly, but i found that if you don't try and refill it all in one shot, just place a few in at a time it seems to work better. since i have 2 the same color [black] i wish there was a slot on the front to identify the content. my work around here, is i place an index card inside the the cakebox top and the discs so that i can see from the outside which is which. putting the whole label from a new batch isn't always possible [if you buy bulk without a cakebox] and with a full label you can't tell when your running low.Reviewed by: John Doe on 2007-01-31 22:55:37. Rating:This product is awesome!I haven't had any sticky issues yet! Its a great product. The plastic is pretty solid. good construction. there is a spring mechanism that makes this disk go down the slide/track and STOPs on time, each time, and it doesn't just drop down, so yes, no scratches. when it reaches the bottom of the slide, its still suspended in mid-air. I tried to flick the switch to make it shoot out, but it didn't happen. There is a ring that you put on after the spindle cake so incase it does tip over, it won't spill the disks. The donut lock works on most as long as the cake is a perfect cylinder. I have one that bevels outwards and it doesn't fit. Joe on 2007-01-15 20:30:28. Reviewed by:Rating:I purchased 2 of these awhile back and while the concept is great they don't always work as intended. The most annoying problem I noticed is that the platform does NOT accept all CD/DVD plastic spindle covers. The grooves usually do not line up at the base so the spindle cover ends up coming off. You also need to be careful placing the media in the holder.Other than that, it's a great concept item!Reviewed by: Fred B on 2006-12-22 11:29:13. Rating:I purchased two of these for my personal use and would have to say they are fantastic. The easiest way to store and use your DVD or CD discs. easy to use and store. Reviewed by:Rating:the disk dispenser is great. i put my dispenser on top of my tower, right above my burner. when I need to burn a disk, I just eject a disk and then drop it onto the burner tray. you have to supply your own spindle cakebox cover. I recommend a 50 because some of the sticky disks will not work stacked 100. the mechanism drops a single disk down the bottom, and then forward on rails on each side, so the underside doesnt rub against anything. it holds the disk, suspended about one centimeter, halfway out, so you can stick your finger in the disk center and grab it easily. if you do any amount of burning, and dont want to spend thousands of dollars on the automatic arm disk things, you should get this. thanks, shop4tech, for selling these. Now I just wish someone there would pay attention to my other request and start selling rubbery plastic cakeboxes, as opposed to the fragile hard plastic ones many brands use these days. specifically 50 pack cakeboxes. if you would buy empty cakeboxes from shop4tech to use with your disks, send shop4tech an email telling them you would buy cakeboxes. if enough of us request cakeboxes...Reviewed by: studmonkey76 on 2006-07-14 12:34:48. Rating:One of the neatest and easiest ways to dispense your dvds. Doesnt scratch them at all. I really like this dispenser!!! Worth the money!!
