Omnipolar technology offers lifelike sound

The advanced sound-reproduction technology featured on all five satellite speakers in Mirage's Nanosat 5.1 home audio system can be summed up in one word — Omnipolar. Research shows that in live musical environments, about 30% of what a person hears is direct sound, while the remaining 70% consists of reflected sound. The brain uses direct sound for identification and localization, and uses reflected sound to determine musicality and spaciousness. Unfortunately, the front-firing driver design used in most loudspeakers produces the opposite ratio: 70% direct sound to 30% reflected sound. Omnipolar technology, on the other hand, restores the balance. The Nanosat 5.1's patented Omniguide module employs two deflectors to create a 360° soundscape. While the first deflector is placed above the tweeter, the second deflector houses the tweeter and is placed above the midrange driver. This specific arrangement of drivers and reflectors makes it possible for any Mirage speaker featuring Omnipolar technology to permeate your listening area with enveloping, high-fidelity sound.
Absolutely fundamental — the subwoofer

If you know a friend or a neighbor that has a home audio system including a subwoofer, invite yourself over for a demo. While you're there, have your gracious host play your favorite song — rock or classical — or your favorite movie's most thrilling action scene. Twice. First, with the subwoofer turned off. Then, with the sub on. Is there a difference? Absolutely. During the first playing, you'll recognize the song or scene and not think much of it; it'll sound just like it always does in your car, on the stereo, or coming from your TV's speakers. During the second playing, you'll have to sit down. The low-frequency audio that only a sub's large driver can reproduce completes the home audio experience by generating sound that you can both hear and feel. Just like the rest of the Nanosat 5.1 system, these bookshelf speakers feature a compact design that doesn't dominate your living room.
