Neuros OSD Media Center and Video Recorder
The Neuros OSD is the first open source, Linux-based, embedded media center. It records video from any source and links your PC, entertainment center, and portables. If you're a geek who likes to get involved with cool new products in the earliest stages, the OSD is for you! Additional information on the OSD, including more detailed specifications, can be found on the Neuros Wiki at wiki.neurostechnology.com/index.php/Neuros_OSD.
Neuros engineers and their ever growing user community (which could include you) will be continuously making new capabilities available to you via regular firmware upgrades. In the future you can look forward to upgrades enabling streaming media from PCs to home entertainment systems; wireless networking; and support for more USB peripherals. To see an up-to-date list of working features and current projects or to find out how to join the Neuros community, go to open.neurostechnology.com. Neuros even has cash bounties available for adding new features to the OSD. For more information visit open.neurostechnology.com /node/562
IMPORTANT NOTE: In a few months the OSD will be easy enough for the masses, but it's currently at the "gamma" stage, which is a fancy way of saying the hardware is production quality but the firmware still has some bugs. Neuros wants your feedback and will send you a $30 rebate for completing an on-line survey and is offering a 60 day "money-back-with-no-questions-asked" return for those purchasing from October 31, 2006 to December 10, 2006 . You will also need to upgrade the firmware of your Neuros OSD as soon as you take it out of the box as firmware upgrades are released almost every week to fix bugs and increase the functionality of the unit - this will require a CF or SD/MMC card. Plrease check here for more details.
Neuros OSD Receives Major Award The OSD was one of only twelve products selected for a prestigious "Best of Digital Life" award by the editors of PC Magazine at last week's Digital Life show in New York City (http://www.dealigg.com/shop.php?id=11111&url=http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2030060,00.asp)
