Adidas Originals continues to release brand new models like the Deerupt Runner. The Deerupt Runner gets its name from combining “disrupt” and “erupt”; a disruption of conventional footwear design with an eruption of new, fresh ideas. As the name implies, adidas’ Originals division seeks to continue the legacy of classic models with twists and new-age takes on the brand’s OGs. Other popular silhouettes under the Originals banner include all-time greats like the adidas Superstar, EQT line, ZX series, NMD, and their newest creation, the POD-S3.1. Originals overall footwear roster blends new with old – past with future. Since 2015, adidas has enjoyed great success as the second best selling brand with the popularity of not only Originals but basketball, running, soccer, and YEEZY too. All facets of The Brand With Three-Stripes’ top departments have all obtained levels of notoriety unseen in adidas’ rich history thanks to innovation and creative strategy that can be seen in the Deerupt Runner.

Good Looks
The Deerupt Runner draws inspiration from the iconic adidas Marathon TR running shoe. The most notable visual feature both shoes share is the mesh used around the EVA foam midsole. This practice allows the Deerupt Runner to have a more unified feeling of compression and rebound (rebound refers to a shoe’s ability to return to its normal, static form). In a nonconventional move, adidas wanted to make sure the Deerupt Runner was extremely photogenic. Adidas directly references Instagram in their design process – the Deerupt Runner needed to look good for the ’Gram. They wanted to make sure the runner looked great when being pictured from an on-foot, downward angle (imagine looking down at your with the shoes on, taking a standing picture of your feet). The upper of the Deerupt Runner utilizes two layers of mesh for increased coloring options and effects. There’s no tongue on these shoes, a one-piece bootie holds your foot in place for a comfortable, irritation-free fit. A medial arch accent and suede heel tab add even more pop to this eye-catching silhouette. Lastly, an extremely comfortable Ortholite™ insole comes standard with every pair – the insole provides cushioning without sacrificing responsiveness. The adidas Originals Deerupt Runner is inspired by classics with modern fit and cushioning, approved for stuntin’ on the ’Gram.
