preeminent electronics retailer in the Triangle, is going out of business after failing to find a buyer, the company said Friday.
The Richmond, Va.-based seller of TVs, stereos and appliances, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November and closed 155 of its U.S. stores. The conversion to liquidation announced Friday will result in the loss of more than 30,000 jobs across the chain, the company said.
