Raggedy Ann & Andy Original Animation Art Cels

An animation cel is a transparent sheet containing color images of cartoon characters which were actually used to make an animated movie or television show. Each production cel is used to create movement, making each cel is an original, unique work of art representing a character in a particular pose or expression. It takes thousands of cels to create a cartoon program. Until recently, cels were washed and re-used, or destroyed. As with most cartoon cels, the backgrounds of these are reproductions of original art, while the character featured are original works of art. These original cels were featured in "The Adventures of Raggedy Ann and Andy," and were created for CBS, originally airing begining in the late 1987/1988 television season.
