High-definition: The Xacti HD2 crams genuine high-definition power into a compact package. High-definition MPEG-4 movies (recorded at 30 fps and 1280 x 720 pixels) can be sent via HDMI to HDTVs or to you PC or DVD recorder for sharing.
Choose your format : The Xacti HD2’s high-definition engine gives you the freedom to prioritize either the image quality or the file size. In high-definition mode, the HD2 records superb high-definition MPEG-4 movies at 1280 x 720 pixels and 30 fps, rendering the details of your subject more clearly than ever. Or, if you want to save space on your memory card, you can record lower-resolution VGA or QVGA movie clips in 4:3 mode (also at 30 fps).
Records stills and video: With the Xacti HD2, you can record video and stills at the same time. Even if you’re in the middle of shooting a high-definition movie, the HD2 lets you record a high-resolution 7.1-megapixel still image. And, since the still-and movie-recording buttons are placed conveniently under your thumb, your other hand is left free the entire time.
10x optical zoom: The HD2 digital media camera features a highly efficient 10x optical zoom with a bright maximum aperture of f/3.5. Combined with the 10x digital zoom, the HD2 provides up to 100x zooming capability.
Image stabilization: The HD2 automatically compensates for distracting up-and-down or side-to-side camera movement, keeping your subject steady. It accurately distinguishes between unintentional camera shake and deliberate camera movement in both wide-angle and telephoto modes.
Docking cradle: Dock the Xacti HD2 into its docking cradle and send your movies or stills to a TV, VCR, PC or DVD recorder. For instant gratification, an HDMI terminal delivers an all-digital A/V signal to your compatible HDTV. The HD2’s docking cradle also lets you save your movie clips and stills onto your PC for editing or emailing.
Personal media player recording: The HD2 has a recording mode designed specifically to capture video for iPods or other MPEG4 capable media players. Shooting in the Web-SHQ mode, videos are captured at 320 x 240 pixels at 30fps—perfect for personal media players.
In-camera editing and playback: With the Sanyo Xacti HD2’s 9-image display function, users can quickly search for specific images or videos. And, with the slideshow feature, images can be played back continuously. The HD2 can also edit clips. Clips can be cut in user-selected points and spliced, all from the camera itself.
Memory: The amount of video and stills you capture is only limited by the amount of memory you're using. The HD2 is compatible with SD and SDHC (up to 8GB) memory cards.
