The Master Chief Collection puts the first four Halo games in succession onto one disc and remasters each game in 1080p @ 60 frames per second. This makes each game look either moderately or considerably better than its original. The package includes all multiplayer maps from the four games as well. Keep in mind this isn't a package of the first four games to release for Halo, which would include Halo 3: ODST, but just the ones that feature Master Chief (1, 2, 3, 4). In addition to the game content, you'll get an early access beta for Halo 5: Guardians which will kick off in December 2014 for an undisclosed period of time (at the time of this review, anyways). On top of that, the Ridley Scott-produced Halo: Nightfall live-action digital series will be included with the package. This series is said to detail some of the events that occur between Halo 4 and Halo 5. Expect great things from that series as Ridley Scott has brought us some incredible films (for example: Gladiator, Black Hawk Down). This package of games will serve Xbox gamers well that either wish to revisit the glory days when Halo stood alone in the console space as a successful shooter while also serving as a great way to usher in new gamers to the history of Halo as there are likely quite a few gamers today that never played the first couple of Halo games (can you believe it 2001 was so long ago?). I'm preordering because it's probably the most intense value package you're going to find on any platform. $60 is a steal and it should be one any shooter's list of games to buy come November.
